Organizational Development
Understanding and managing systems is critical to the success of any organization
Systems Thinking
An organization is a system; comprised of smaller, interconnected, sometimes overlapping systems.
Every system (large or small) is made up of 3 elements: (1) people, (2) the processes they work with, and (3) the culture; a set of values, goals, behaviors, assumptions and beliefs.
The system, and the elements that comprise that system have a complex, reciprocal relationship; the people, processes and culture impact the system, and the system impacts the people, processes and culture.
In addition, an organizational system interacts with a set of external systems: political, social, economic, regulatory, etc.
